Queen Camilla has paid a secret nod to France by re-wearing a baby pink outfit she wore during a visit there last September.

The King and Queen are currently in Portsmouth to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Introduced to the stage by host Dame Helen Mirren, the King and Queen were met with a standing ovation from those in attendance.

As she stood alongside her husband, the 76-year-old looked pretty in a dusky pink crepe coat dress by Fiona Clare - with this designer having fast become a firm favourite for Camilla.

This is a re-wear for the royal, who opted for the dress to touchdown in France in late September 2023.

Allowing to show of her slim figure, the dress is nipped in at the waist.

Complementing the coat dress, Camilla also wore a matching Philip Treacy pink beret-shaped hat with a leaf design - something she also wore with the dress in France.

She accessorised with a pearl necklace and white gloves.

The late Queen also wore the same colour during her own visit to France in 2014.

During the couple's appearance in Portsmouth today, the King delivered a poignant D-Day speech.

In one part of his speech, the King said: "Today we come together to honour those nearly one hundred and sixty thousand British, Commonwealth and Allied troops who, on 5th June 1944, assembled here and along these shores to embark on the mission which would strike that blow for freedom and be recorded as the greatest amphibious operation in history..."

The King read a message from Field Marshal Montgomery, who is the Commander in Chief of the Allied Ground Forces. He also poem by Keith Douglas during his powerful speech marking the D-Day anniversary.

In a special clip, Charles honoured his grandfather that will be part of a BBC film to be broadcast today.

Reading aloud from his late grandfather’s wartime diary, he says: "My grandfather was so determined to go. He got very frustrated because they wouldn’t let him go until several days later."

Prince William is also at today's event. He will also head across the Channel to mark 80 years since the largest seaborne invasion in history that saw thousands of soldiers killed.

The Normandy landings took place on June 6, 1944 and went on to lay down the foundations for the Allied victory.
