Prince Harry has been offered a crucial piece of advice on how to repair his strained relationship with King Charles.

The father and son have been embroiled in a bitter feud since after the Duke of Sussex announced he would be stepping down from his institutional role alongside his wife Meghan Markle in 2020.

The pair have met on several occasions over the years but questions about the state of their relationship reignited last month after they failed to meet during Harry's brief stay in the UK.

Royal expert Robert Hardman shared his insight on how Harry could reconcile with the King, suggesting that the initial step should be to "normalise" their relationship.

Speaking at Hay Festival, the expert noted it was particularly "telling" when Harry made a swift return to the UK in February following the King's cancer diagnosis, prompting questions about why he didn't stay longer or speak to his father.

He said: "I mean, there is so much to be worked through, but this was absolutely not the moment to have some sort of summit with Harry about all of Harry's grievances."

As for further steps towards reconciliation, Mr Hardman proposed that Harry should bring his wife Meghan and their two children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - to the UK.

He added: "Once that happens it's not such big news when it happens again. Then you start to get somewhere."

Mr Hardmand also sounded the alarm on lingering trust issues within the Royal Family, particularly concerning Prince Harry.

He claimed that senior royals such as Prince William remain "very wounded" over the Duke of Sussex's bombshell revelations in his tell-all memoir 'Spare'.

Harry's book laid bare his upbringing under the royal spotlight and delved into his past encounters with drugs as he grew older.

The Duke also recounted a fierce altercation with his brother William, who he claimed branded Meghan Markle as "difficult", "rude", and "abrasive".

In a shocking claim, Harry alleged that during this row, the Prince of Wales "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor".

Mr Hardman pointed out that the Royal Family's pain stems not so much from Harry's criticisms but from his disclosure of intimate details, accusing him of "giving away so many secrets". Furthermore, he slammed Harry for allegedly "taking notes" during Queen Elizabeth's passing.
