Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'slipping into C-list' celeb status after Archewell woes
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's foundation, Archewell, has seen donations drop by nearly £9million.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at risk of becoming C-list celebrities as their influence declines, a commentator has sensationally claimed.
Reports say that donations to the Archewell Foundation have dropped by £8.79million ($11million) over the past year, “sending [their accounts] into the red”.
Conservative commentator Ben Harris said the drop in donations was a direct result of the couple’s “declining influence”.
He told Talk TV’s Ian Collins: “I think this is exactly what it looks like. They’ve taken this fire sale of family secrets strategy and have run out of stories to tell.
“Inevitably, they are therefore no longer of interest to the media they’ve been pitching to."
He continued: “They’re either going to have to come up with something more explosive or ridiculous or shameful, or they’re going to seep into B-list, C-list, Z-list LA celebrities.
“I think it’s more about influence than what they're doing. And as their influence declines so will donations.
“And that’s what the operation has been about, it’s about influence and PR. And actually, they haven’t done a very good job of it.”

This comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex release a video on the foundation's work and impact.
The montage features Meghan hugging veterans, volunteering at a pop-up baby shop she staged for expectant mothers experiencing homelessness, and surprise-calling a young entrepreneur with Prince Harry.
The couple have been accused of the video’s publication being strategic, being put online just hours after Kensington Palace shared a video of Princess Kate and her three children volunteering at a baby bank.
