Windsor Castle 'too noisy' for Charles and 'too small' for William – could be left empty
WINDSOR CASTLE is "too noisy" for Prince Charles as it is located under the Heathrow flight path.

There has been speculation that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could take over the property when Charles becomes king. But Fort Belvedere, one of the properties the couple has reportedly looked at in Windsor, is too small for the Cambridges, according to an official who spoke to the Mail.
This could mean the Castle is left without permanent residents when Prince Charles becomes King.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's current London base is Kensington Palace, but they also spent time at Anmer Hall on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, which was given to them by the Queen.
Charles reportedly plans to move into Buckingham Palace when he becomes King.
When this happens, sources have claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will "ultimately inherit Windsor Castle."
But speaking about the planned change in residence, one source also told the Daily Mail that "nothing is set in stone."
As well as looking at Fort Belvedere, where Edward VIII signed his abdication papers, Kate and William have also looked at Frogmore House - where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived after their wedding in 2018.
The 1,000-year-old castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.
However, it is thought that the Cambridges will keep their domestic and work base at Kensington Palace.

The couple has reportedly been looking for senior schools for their children in West London.
The Telegraph also claimed that London friends of the couple were "aghast" by their proposed move to Berkshire.
It wrote: "Their London circle is aghast – what’s wrong with Anmer Hall, their 10-bedroom weekend house in Norfolk? – and so, too, are their green-welly friends, who consider this corner of Berkshire as not proper countryside and horribly naff."
Last year it was claimed that William and Kate were "seriously considering" relocating to Windsor in the near future, even before Charles becomes King.

This would put the couple closer to the Queen and royal decision making.
It would also bring them closer to the Middleton family, based nearby in Bucklebury.
At the time, a source told the Mail on Sunday: “Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn’t really work anymore.
"It’s a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise.
"They are eyeing up options in the area."
Charles's move to Buckingham Palace has also attracted attention, as it has been reported that the royal's living quarters will effectively become a "flat above the shop".
It has been suggested that the Palace will be opened up for tourism all year round, as part of the future king's vision for a "slimmed down monarchy".
