Jeremy Clarkson opened up about something strange after noticing the lack of butterflies at his Diddly Squat Farm.

The presenter took to X to highlight the lack of sightings at his famed Cotswold farm which features on his Prime Video reality show.

On Sunday, the former Top Gear star penned: “Just been on a walk round the farm and I’m a bit alarmed by how few butterflies there are. (sic)

As a concerned Jeremy added: “Something is afoot.”

The comments were filled with suggestions from his followers including one from @Gilchesters who suggested: “Go organic.”

However, the bewildered 64-year-old responded: “We are doing all the right things. Including not going organic. Which doesn’t work.”

The Butterfly Conservation Trust has said the drop in butterfly sightings is down to colder temperatures and heavy rain the UK has been experiencing.

The Trust said around 12 per cent of participants in its annual Big Butterfly Count reported no sightings at all in the first week.

The Count is a UK-wide survey aimed at helping to assess the health of the environment which takes place between July 12 and August 4 each year.

During the count, participants are asked to record the number and species of butterflies they see within 15 minutes.

This comes just days after Jeremy hit back at critics who complained about the 11 beehives he installed at the entrance of his property in the Cotswolds.

After locals claimed they were stung by the bees, the presenter found it hilarious as he hit back: “Hilariously, the Mail reports that ramblers are being stung by my bees. Diddums.”

In a second post, The Clarkson’s Farm star added: “I put some bee hives there because that’s the regen field and there are many things they like to pollinate. And now I’m in trouble because someone might get stung. Who’d be a farmer?”
