Former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson has turned his talents from running a successful farm to opening up another business in the English countryside.

Jeremy Clarkson announces new Hawkstone Breeze Lager

Jeremy Clarkson has bought a village pub in the Cotswolds following his success of his now-famous, 1000-acre Diddly Squat farm and accompanying shop.

The former Top Gear star reportedly purchased The Windmill in Asthall, for £1 million and plans to convert it into a prestigious destination.

He will also document his transformation into a pub landlord in a new television series.

Before launching his pub, Clarkson has also invested in making beer near his farm on the outskirts of Bourton-on-the-Water and recently announced that they’d launched a special edition summer beer exclusively available for Hawkstone members, known as Hawstonians.

The 64-year-old entered a world of pig breeding and running his own farm in his Prime Video show Clarkson's Farm which has become a hit with viewers. But will he see the same success in the pub industry?

According to The Daily Mail, Clarkson will have his work cut out as he competes with other A-list rivals in the Cotswold area that are huge in popularity.

Nearby to Clarkson's new pub is Soho Farmhouse which is a private members club for those seeking a slice of country living.

The swanky establishment was founded by Nick Jones, husband of BBC presenter Kirsty Young, who sold 80 per cent of the club to Richard Caring.

Located in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, Soho Farmhouse was constructed on a derelict farm and vacant cattle shed and offers bedrooms starting from £295 per night, farm huts and five restaurants.

Soho Farmhouse grew quickly in popularity and has been dubbed the 'Beverly Hills' of the Cotswolds, the Beckhams even have a property close-by.

Also stretching from the bright lights of London to the Cotswold is another celebrity haunt Estelle Manor - an outpost of Mayfair's Maison Estelle.

Located in Eynsham, Oxfordshire, the Georgian Grade II-listed manor house in the 85-acre estate has offers a brasserie, Roman-inspired spa and a night in the woodland cottage for £2,500 among other accomodation.

Elsewhere, The Wild Rabbit in Kingham is owned by Lady Bamford and celebrates 'traditional British cooking'. There is also a cosy retreat aviable and an outdoor gym.

Meanwhile, The Bull in Burford, is owned by multi-millionaire PR guru Matthew Freud, whose ex-wife was Rupert Murdoch’s daughter. There are 18 bedrooms and four restaurants, including the Hiro restaurant with its 14-course tasting menu.

Freud is also reportedly opening another Cotswold's pub called The Highway, also in Burford, which offers a 'stripped back luxury' vibe and flaunts Cotswold authenticity.

Will Clarkson's new venture rise in the ranks as a upmarket popular Cotswold pub?
