Showbiz PR guru Jai Evans has died aged 43 after reportedly being found dead at his apartment in Sydney. The businessman worked with celebrities and huge brands - including Vogue, Ferrari and Gucci - and also starred in Home and Away in a successful career spanning more than two decades.

Australian fitness entrepreneur Dan Wootton confirmed the news of Jai's death in a statement on social media. He wrote: "RIP Jai Evans. Another beautiful friend taken much too soon before his time.

"Your vibrant energy and eagerness to help was second to none. Rest easy, Jai. Love you, mate."

Jai's cause of death is unknown and police are not treating the matter as suspicious, according to the Daily Mail.

There are currently conflicting reports of when Jai died and when his body was found. A source told the aforementioned publication that he died last Sunday but was not found until Thursday, while other reports indicate he was found dead on Saturday.

Jai founded Evans Media in 2005, aged 24, and worked with companies to improve their PR strategies. His reputation grew and he worked alongside huge brands and media companies including ABC, Sky News and Channel 10.

He also had a very famous circle of friends, rubbing shoulders with the likes of model Lara Worthington and Ruslan Kogan's wife Anastasia.

Back in the 1990s, Jai had a brief acting career and appeared in Home and Away in 1997.

Following the news of his death, people have taken to social media to share messages of condolence.

Lorin shared: "What a shock. So sad to see such a beautiful soul leave the world."

Alice added: "Rest in peace Jai," while Paul simply wrote: "Sad."

Fellow publicist Roxy Jacenko described him as a "real networker", adding: "He was like me, one of a new wave of PRs. He always had the best-looking bevvy of girls to bring to events [and was] always up to try something different."

Jai gave an interview earlier this year in which he shared the secret to success in a media career.

"Talent success is dependent on how well they lead with their heart and not their head. If they are too ego-driven people disengage," he told Pedestrian in April.
