Piers Morgan Uncensored: Donald Trump debate gets personal

Piers Morgan spoke with longtime on-off nemesis Donald Trump days after his assassination attempt.

The Talk TV host shared they "had a 15-min chat about bullets, Biden, the presidential race, me calling him the Mick Jagger of politics, bleeding ears, and the elixir of eternal youth".

The former US president, 78, is hoping to reprise his seat in the Oval Office as he gears up for the presidential election later this year.

However, his campaign took an alarming turn when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks tried to murder him, opening fire at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Piers added: "Never known him sound so happy and chilled which is pretty astonishing given he was shot a week ago.

"I’m so glad he survived the appalling assassination attempt on his life.

"I’ll always criticise Trump when I think he’s wrong, and praise him when I think he’s right.

"But whether you love or hate him, there’s no denying his extraordinary guts and defiance under fire last weekend, which I believe will propel him back to the White House, " Piers concluded.

Taking to X hours later, he wrote: "Just woke up to the horrifying news that President Trump was nearly assassinated.

"A shocking, terrible assault on American democracy."

He then questioned: "Also a shocking failure by the Secret Service.

"Trump showed astounding courage after being shot - but why did SS not get him straight off stage?"

In a previous social media post, back in May 2024, Piers embarked on a fiery rant after Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records to commit election fraud.

"This is a sad, shameful and ridiculous day for America.

"To drag a former President, who is running for President again, through criminal courts over something so trivial feels a massive overreach & an incredibly divisive and obviously politically partisan action." (sic)
