Gemma Collins has put her wedding plans to Rami Hawash on the back burner following the tragic deaths of two family members. The reality star has been navigating a “really bad time” after the loss of her grandfather and Rami’s father within the space of a couple of months.

Gemma, 43, and Rami, 49, became engaged earlier this year and are planning to get married in 2026.

Opening up about the upsetting time, the TOWIE star told the Express: “It's been a really bad time because Rami's dad passed away and my grandad passed away, so none of us have really been in the mood to celebrate.

“But yeah, (the wedding) will all come together when it's meant to. But with two deaths in the family, it's just not really been at the forefront of anyone's mind.”

Rami announced his father’s death in a heartbreaking post shared in June. The businessman wrote: “I have no words. You was the BEST DAD in the world. Today heaven gained the best Angel #restinpeace." (sic)

Gemma was among the first to show support for her fiancé, commenting: "Lovely man Ram. I never forget how he loved to watch Mirander." (sic)

Gemma's mother Joan Collins - who was rushed to hospital and put in intensive care earlier this year - also offered her condolences.

She wrote: “God bless the family sending love to you all.”

Gemma and Rami first met in 2011 and had an on-off relationship for the next few years. Rami proposed to Gemma on Christmas Day in 2013, but they called off their engagement a few weeks later.

Following their split, they both dated other people before finding their way back to each other during the Covid pandemic.

In 2021, Rami proposed again and they intended to get married this summer, however, Gemma disclosed last year that they had decided to postpone the wedding to concentrate on other matters.

This time though, the pair are determined to walk down the aisle in not one, but three weddings.

“I think we’re actually going to have three weddings. The main one will be somewhere fabulous in the UK, the second may be abroad, and the third will be the formal one for our closest friends and family,” she told OK! Magazine in April.

Meanwhile, Gemma has been thinking about the future and urges the public to prioritise their plans for retirement and give "their pension some attention".

Gemma has joined forces with Pension Attention after research revealed just 23 percent of Brits have organised their finances for later life.

The campaign - coordinated by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) - directs the public to the Pension Attention website which has short films featuring Gemma and money expert Iona Bain explaining the small steps you can take today to help your future self.

Explaining why she wanted to get involved, Gemma said: "To be honest, I hadn’t previously given much thought to my retirement and the money I might need for it. It has always felt such a long way off.

“But working on the Pension Attention campaign and chatting to Iona Bain has opened my eyes to the importance of thinking about my plans now and facing forward. I don’t want to be hustling forever and working 24/7 on the trot. If you can do one thing today – then just have a look at your pension and give it some attention. It’s going to be top of my list now.”
