Guns N' Roses legend Slash announces death of stepdaughter, 25, and cancels gigs

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has announced the tragic death of his 25-year-old stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu hours after cancelling four tour dates.

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, real name Saul Hudson, shared the tragic news of his stepdaughter's death on Monday morning. The rock legend, 58, announced that Lucy-Bleu, 25, died "peacefully" on Friday in Los Angeles.

He said in a statement via Instagram: "Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.

"Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.

"The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss."

Slash first dated Lucy's mother, Meegan, in 1989 before rekindling their romance in 2015.

Thousands took to the comments to share their messages of condolence after the family's devastating loss. Susan Holmes McKagan, wife of Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, wrote: "Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. love you all so much."

The band's keyboard player Melissa Reese added: "There are no words. Sending absolutely all of my love and hugs and condolences and support to you guys."

Barbaranne Wylde, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde, echoed: "So Sorry Meegan and Slash. May God Bless and Keep Lucy Bleu Sending Love & Light Zakk & Barbaranne."

Guitarist Tyler Bryant penned: "So sorry."

Slash's heartbreaking announcement comes just 12 hours after he cancelled four dates of his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour citing "unforeseen circumstances".

A statement on Instagram read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase.

"The S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will resume in Toronto on July 28, 2024 at Budweiser Stage. We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."

The cancelled shows are:

July 22 – Cincinnati, OH – PNC Pavilion at Riverbend

July 24 – Interlochen, MI – Interlochen Center for the Arts

July 25 – Huber Heights, OH – Rose Music Center

July 27 – Windsor, ON – The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor
