Former model turned special police constable Penny Lancaster has issued a three-word verdict on her marriage to rocker, Sir Rod Stewart, in light of her loyal social media followers.

The 53-year-old shared several loved-up photographs of herself alongside the 79-year-old music legend on her Instagram story during a romantic trip to the French capital, Paris.

The duo stopped at a quintessentially Parisian flea market for lunch before posing outside a stunning historic red door in a second snap.

They then stopped to enjoy a glass of bubbly at a cafe in the city, with Penny wearing a sophisticated white tweed dress with a matching jacket in black which she paired with oversized sunglasses.

Sir Rod, who was raising his glass for the picture, opted for a summery beige linen suit with a white shirt underneath. Both of them wore trainers in the pictures taken during daylight hours as they were probably on their feet a lot exploring what the city had to offer.

In the image of the two enjoying a drink at a cafe, Penny sweetly captioned the post: "Romance never dies."

In another couple of shots shared on her story, the pair looked sensational as they dressed up for a date night and posed for a picture outside of their hotel.

Penny showcased her endless legs in a satin off-the-shoulder black gown with a slit up the left side while Rod wore a crisp white suit with a black tie for their night out.

The affectionate photographs come after Penny opened up about being prescribed HRT while going through the menopause in recent years.

She told The Times in a recent interview: "I threw these plates of food across the kitchen as hard as I could, to make as much noise as I could. As if the noise… as if someone would wake up, someone would notice me, someone would have the answer."

"Of course, it was an absolute shock to Rod and the boys. Rod just went, ‘Boys, in the other room. Leave Mummy.’ He came over and said, ‘It’s all right, darling. It’s OK, it’s OK.’ I was shaking.

"I can’t do this. What the hell is going on with me?’ I thought I was going mad. Rod said, ‘Right, we’ve got to get you to the doctor’s. You can’t carry on like this. There’s got to be an answer. There’s got to be something."

The star also said in the interview how well Sir Rod handled the situation as she was struggling with her emotions at the time.

Sir Rod met Penny back in 1999 when he agreed to let her take photographs of him on tour, and a romance soon blossomed between the pair who began a seven-year courtship.

The couple now share two children together, Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 12 - with Sir Rod having eight children of his own in total.

Sir Rod has been married two times before Penny to Alana Stewart in 1979 and model Rachel Hunter in 1990.
