Call The Midwife star leaves BBC fans saying same thing as they unveil huge transformation

A Call The Midwife star has astonished fans with their latest social media post showing off the results of their training regime.

Call The Midwife star Olly Rix has been praised by fans after showing off an incredible body transformation on Instagram. The 39-year-old was usually seen in smart suits and tailored shirts when he played Matthew Aylward, the husband of Trixie (Helen George).

Having left the show at the end of the last season when his character jetted off to New York to rebuild his fortune Olly is now focusing on a new project and has been training hard. While it is unknown what he is training for it clearly requires him to be in great shape and one fan even compared his physique to Hugh Jackman's ripped look as Wolverine in the X-Men movies.

He posted the impressive image showing him in just training shorts to his 41,500 followers and added a caption expressing his gratitiude to his trainers. "Thank you to the team at Andarta Performance in helping me realise the best shape possible for this next one," he wrote.

Fans were overcome by his new image and took to the comments to express their appreciation. @littlest_hobo76 swooned: "Crikey. You don't get this at Nonnatus," in reference to the house at the centre of the Call The Midwife drama.

@izzydepalma72 gushed: "I thought it was Hugh Jackman - Wolverine! All the best with your next project. Hard work pays off." @alisonedwards1 asked cheekily: "What would the nuns say?"

@poshballo exclamed: "Sweet Baby Jesus, looking ripped...Well Done, hard work pays off." @peko_roscoe commented: "Seriously? As if you weren’t already hot! Wow!"

Meanwhile @ggintokyo21chimed in: "Brains and Beauty. Powerful combination. You look very handsome @olly.rix."

Olly has been training hard lately and previously posted a slideshow of him in boxing training hitting pads held by a trainer. He has also recently posted a clip which appears to show him undergoing weapons training.

His post comes after he reportedly drifted apart off-screen from his on-screen spouse Helen George and appeared to unfollow her on Instagram. He also seemed to remove a selfie of the pair from his page, although Helen still follows him on the social media site.

The BBC colleagues were said to have been supporting each other as they navigated heartbreak having both split from their respective partners last year.

The pair were spotted together on several occasions and he also showed up to the press night for The King and I in January to support Helen who was playing the role of Anna.

"They were there for each other in the wake of their splits," a source recently claimed to The Sun. "But it seems they are no longer close and have made this clear by removing each other on social media.

"Olly even went one step further and deleted a picture of him and Helen from Instagram," they added.
