In a landmark ruling, former US President Donald Trump has been convicted on all 34 felony charges in the New York hush money case, sparking widespread celebration among celebrities around the world.

The verdict, which came after two days of jury deliberations totalling 9 1/2 hours, prompted an immediate outpouring of jubilation from global stars across various industries, including music, film, literature, and more, who took to social media to express their joy and relief.

Katy Perry, the ex-American Idol judge, was quick to react, exuberantly tweeting "LFG" on X (formerly Twitter) which stands for "let's f**king go."

Barbra Streisand, the legendary performer known for her role in A Star is Born, did not hold back in her response, taking to Twitter to lambast Trump's refusal to accept responsibility.

"Convicted felon Donald Trump is blaming the judge, the jury and New York for being found guilty on 34 counts," she shared.

"He will never accept accountability for his crimes. Americans must not allow this felon anywhere near the White House again."

Following the verdict, comedian Kathy Griffin expressed her relief on social media after a previous scandal involving a mock severed head of Trump nearly derailed her career.

Before the news broke, Kathy posted: "I can't take it. Praying so hard for a guilty verdict."

Supporters rallied around her, with one replying: "We all hate the SOB with you Kathy! You have been targeted by this thug and he is finally getting in trouble for his mobster antics."

Grateful for the support, Kathy responded: "Thank you for saying that. It was awful and he is awful. TEARS OF JOY."

Post-verdict, famed author Stephen King took to social media to share his thoughts, stating: "The Republican candidate for President is a convicted felon."

This prompted a reply from a user who commented: "Import the Third World, become the Third World. That's what we just saw. This won't stop Trump. He'll win the election if he's not killed first.

"But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family."

Cynthia Nixon, the actress best known for Sex in the City, also couldn't hide her elation, sharing a screenshot from the New York Times article with the headline: "Trump Guilty on all Counts."

The 58-year-old actress celebrated the news with a confetti emoji on Instagram, set to the tune of the Law and Order theme song.

John Cusack, known for his role in Sixteen Candles, joined the chorus of support for the guilty verdict against Trump.

He took to social media, stating: "The dumb treacherous criminal is now a convicted felon - 34 times over. Now what will judge do with Trump contempt violations."

Acclaimed director Rob Reiner didn't mince his words, simply exclaiming "GUILTY!!!!!" on his platform.

Mia Farrow, who starred in The Great Gatsby, also reflected on Trump's past controversies.

She shared on social media: "No gloating here. It is a sad day for America. We are left to wonder how we ever elected such a person - who bragged he could grab women's genitals, called fallen soldiers 'losers', said McCain is not a hero because he likes people who don't get captured, said an amputee solder should not be in view of WH because it made him look bad.

"He does indeed look bad. Very bad. No space to list all of his nightmare doings here but you know- the stolen docs, the attempt to overthrow the election - ALL of it has to matter to all of us."

She posted a picture with their hands clasped together, alongside the caption: "THE ONLY VERDICT THAT MATTERS IS THE VOTE OF WE THE PEOPLE, OF THE USA, ON NOVEMBER 5 2024!"
