Leeds have reportedly offered Joel Ekstrand a contract
Ekstrand was a key member of the Watford side that earned promotion back to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season, making 24 league appearances for the Hornets.
However, the centre-back suffered a cruciate knee injury in March last year and didn't feature once for the London club in the Premier League.
As a result he has been released and is now available as a free agent and is said to be attracting attention from a host of Championship clubs, including Leeds.
The Bristol Post claim Leeds, Reading and Bristol City are all vying for the 27-year-old, who is a Swedish international with two caps.
The report says the Yorkshire-based club and Reading have both offered Ekstrand a contract.
Speaking about his release from Watford, Ekstrand said: “I’m sad to be leaving in this manner, without having played any games for a while.

"But I hope some of you remember that I gave my all for the club, and I hope to see you again some day.”
If Leeds did get a deal over the line for Ekstrand he would become new boss Garry Monk's second Swedish signing in a week.
Striker Marcus Antonsson put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Leeds today, joining from Swedish top-flight side Kalmar for an undisclosed fee.
