Leeds close in on Premier League defender deal: Garry Monk also eyes striker switch
LEEDS UNITED boss Garry Monk is closing in on a deal for Swansea defender Kyle Bartley, according to reports.
Leeds are said to be closing in on deals for Kyle Bartley and Marcus Antonsson
The 25-year-old was restricted to just five Premier League appearances during the 2015/16 season, with Ashley Williams and Federico Fernandez cementing themselves as the club¹s first choice centre back pairing.
And it is thought Swans boss Francesco Guidolin is open to the former England youth international spending the 2016/17 campaign away from the Liberty Stadium.
Leeds manager Monk previously worked with Bartley during his own spell at Swansea - both in his playing and fledgling managerial careers - and is said to be keen on a reunion at Elland Road.
The Yorkshire Evening Post report negotiations over a season-long loan deal are well underway.
Bartley may not be the only new arrival in Leeds though, with Monk considering a move for Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson.

The 25-year-old began his career with Halmstads BK, netting 11 goals in 71 games.
But a move to Kalmar FF in 2015 resulted in a notable up turn in form, and he has since bagged 22 goals in 44 Allsvenskan appearances.
And Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is thought to be willing to shell out a seven-figure fee to secure Antonsson's services.
