Mesut Ozil has urged Arsene Wenger to spend in the summer
The Gunners made just one addition in the January transfer window, signing Mohamed Elneny, while Petr Cech was their only acquisition of last summer.
Subsequently, the north London outfit have seen their title hopes fade.
Having fallen 11 points behind Leicester in the title race, Arsene Wenger has faced fresh questions over his future, with some of the fans turning on him.
And Ozil has begged Wenger to sign some top stars when the window reopens.
“We know that it will not be easy and that we need reinforcements if we want next season to be on top here again,” Ozil told German paper Welt am Sonntag.
“It is again interesting to see who invests in who and how much the clubs do during the summer break.”
Ozil played the full 90 minutes of Germany’s 3-2 friendly defeat to England last night.
