Cristian Stellini sacked as Spurs’ acting head coach with Ryan Mason taking over
Julian Nagelsmann has issued Tottenham Hotspur a strict demand that they must meet if he is to become the club's new head coach this summer, according to reports. The ultimatum will leave Daniel Levy with plenty to ponder, with the Lilywhites chairman under increasing pressure to get his latest appointment right.
Spurs' season has descended into chaos after announcing that Ryan Mason would take interim charge until the end of the season on Monday.
Antonio Conte left via mutual consent in March before his short-term successor, assistant Cristian Stellini, received his marching orders after Sunday's 6-1 defeat at Newcastle United.
Nagelsmann is among the club's leading candidates to enter the dugout this summer after he withdrew from the Chelsea running last Friday.
But the Independent report that the German coach would want significant control of all transfer business in north London.
He is said to have ignored the Chelsea job because of doubts that he could succeed in the Blues' structure at Stamford Bridge.
And similar concerns will be rife about the Tottenham position; years of poor recruitment have contributed to a 15-year trophy drought.

Nagelsmann has previously simmered talk of arriving at Spurs after his Bayern Munich sacking in March, but he is willing to listen to the pitch Levy produces.
The report claims that Levy would prefer to bring Nagelsmann in before the summer as Spurs battle for Champions League qualification.
But it's believed that convincing him at all is going to require some work, given the scale of the rebuild required to make Tottenham one of the best teams in the country again.

The Londoners' top-four hopes would be all but over if they suffer defeat to Manchester United on home turf on Thursday evening.
United are six points ahead in fourth, having played two fewer games, so a nine-point lead would likely be unassailable in five outings.
Tottenham's primary focus would then switch to maintaining a Europa League spot, with Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brighton and Hove Albion breathing down their neck.
