Cristiano Ronaldo spoke of his delight at breaking Ali Daei's international goals world record in Portugal's dramatic comeback victory over Republic of Ireland on Wednesday. The 36-year-old was level with Daei heading into the match against Ireland having scored five times at Euro 2020.

The 19-year-old put in a heroic effort in the first half to keep Portugal's attacking players at bay.
And Ireland managed to go in at the break 1-0 up after John Egan gave the visitors the lead.
Portugal were struggling to find a way past Ireland's rigid defence and it looked as though Stephen Kenny's side were going to hold on for a valuable three points.
But Ronaldo can never be counted out, as he proved late on with a brilliant header past Bazunu.
