Euro 2020: Ferdinand and Lineker celebrate England goal
Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker reignited their rivalry on social media as the pair clashed over a Swedish red card at Euro 2020. The Scandinavian side were drawing 1-1 in extra-time with Ukraine when Marcus Andreas Danielson was given his marching orders following a VAR check.
While the defender initially played the ball, the follow through caught Artem Besyedin high on the knee.
The Ukraine star did not move and was clearly in agony as VAR ordered the referee to check the pitch-side monitor.
Following a review, Danielson was shown a straight red card for the tackle.
Besyedin then hobbled off and replays showed that his knee flexed following the force of the tackle, which clearly endangered an opponent.

Gary Lineker surprised fans on Twitter by claiming the tackle was not a red card.
"That’s not a red card. He’s perfectly entitled to clear that ball," he said.
"Slow motion once again turning an innocuous challenge look more than it was. Ridiculous."
He later added: "When you kick a football it’s almost impossible not to follow through (not that kind of follow through btw).

"Just because a player gets injured because someone kicked a football and accidentally catches him on the follow through doesn’t make it a foul, let alone a red."
His rival Morgan then replied: "Says the bloke who never tackled. It was a recklessly high challenge that could have broken his opponent’s leg. Definite red card."
Lineker then hit back: "Finally, absolute confirmation that I’m right."
One fan then replied with a photo of the tackle but Lineker isn't a fan of still frames.
