Arsenal should save their money and not pursue a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard this summer, because they already have the perfect player to replace the Norwegian. Odegaard hinted this week that he is open to extending his stay at Arsenal next season after his loan at the Emirates ends. Mikel Arteta is thought to be in the market for a No 10, even if he fails to land Odegaard.
But Joe Willock's record-breaking form at Newcastle should change the mind of the Gunners boss.
Willock has scored in his last six Premier League appearances for the Magpies - becoming the youngest player in the competition's history to achieve such a feat.
When agreeing to the loan move in January, Arteta hoped the 21-year-old would gain vital first-team experience.
However, not even Arteta will have expected the impact Willock has had at St James' Park.

Willock has always had an eye for goal, scoring 11 times in his 78 career appearances for Arsenal.
But the majority of those strikes have come in cup and European competition, so seeing him perform on a regular basis in the Premier League will delight Arteta.
The arrival of Odegaard in January led to Willock's departure.
But in truth, the England under-21 international's goal return at Newcastle puts the highly-rated Odegaard to shame.

Arteta needs to recruit in at least three other areas.
If Bernd Leno does leave, then a new No 1 goalkeeper must be brought into the club.
Arteta played down rumours of the German leaving earlier this week but with only two years remaining on his contract, something's got to give soon.
Defence is still a problem area, especially on the right-hand side.

Signing a right-back is a necessity, with Hector Bellerin's future at the club looking bleak, and neither Calum Chambers or Cedric Soares being long-term options in that position.
David Luiz's departure leaves Rob Holding as the only recognised right-sided centre-back in the squad.
William Saliba will return from his loan spell and be given a chance next season, but Arteta may not want to burden the 20-year-old with a regular spot in the team.
Arsenal need to be smart in the market and spend big in the right areas.
And at the moment, spending a large part of that budget on Odegaard should not be a priority.
