Man Utd: Solskjaer's message to fans ahead of more protests
Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed with the club’s Glazer family owners over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s suitability for the role of Red Devils boss. Solskjaer has guided United to second in the Premier League and into this season’s Europa League final.
This season is set to be the closest United have come to lifting a league title since Ferguson left the club in 2013.
But the Norwegian has frequently faced criticism from some areas that he is not a good enough coach to lead the club.
Those critics point to United’s poor record in semi-finals under Solskjaer’s reign, with United reaching the final of just one since he replaced Jose Mourinho.
Manchester City’s dominance of the Premier League has also been used against Solskjaer, with United currently 10 points behind their rivals having played a game more.

Those assessments appear to be harsh though, with United winning 70 of Solskjaer’s 129 games in charge and losing just 30.
Many United supporters disapprove of the Glazer family’s ownership of the club, with the club’s long drought without a league title one of the reasons for their anger.
The Americans were recently forced to write an open letter to fans to quell anger following the European Super League debacle, in which they also gave their full backing to Solskjaer.
Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important trophies, playing entertaining football with a team comprised of top-quality recruits and some of the world’s best homegrown talent. Under Ole, we feel we are absolutely on the right track,” the letter said.

Ferguson has also hailed Solskjaer’s decision to give the younger members of his squad playing time, with both Amad Diallo and Anthony Elanga recently being handed debuts.
“What is really important for this club is to introduce young people, and he's given young players a chance,” Ferguson added.
“That will always be the foundation of Manchester United, from Matt Busby, from Alex Ferguson and to what Ole is doing.
“The young guys, if they are good enough, play them. Never a problem at this club.”
