Arsenal need Martin Odegaard to push for a permanent transfer to the Emirates for there to be a chance of a deal happening, according to reports. Odegaard is currently on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid after joining the Gunners in January. The Norway star has started to showcase his true ability for the north London side, putting in his best performance to date in the 3-3 draw at West Ham last weekend.

"I've said things before that I still stand for: Stability and development are key words."
Spanish outlet Marca report that Real chiefs are keen for Odegaard to return to the club this summer, and that his performances have proven he can play a vital role in the coming seasons.
But the report also claims Odegaard is happy in London and may decide a permanent deal is the best outcome.
However, Arsenal need him to push for a move away from Real to enable a deal to happen.

And Arteta couldn't speak highly enough of the attacking midfielder after the match.
“I think he had an incredible performance,” said Arteta.
“I think he was very intelligent the way he read the game, the way he affected the game and again he showed how much he wanted to win.
“When everyone was a little trembling he gave us that stability and that composure on the ball and he created chance after chance.
“He’s been showing that, I think, from week one. The way he steps on the pitch, he always wants the ball, the way he commands the pressing. He’s been really influential."
