Man Utd: Solskjaer reacts to Haaland breaking record
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has allegedly been calling Erling Haaland in a bid to convince him to join Manchester United, reports have claimed. The race for the hottest young striker in world football is now hotting up, just 18 months after Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg for £18million.
The Bundesliga club are currently on course to miss out on Champions League football next season, something that is likely to hamper their chance of keeping Haaland.
Europe's elite club competition is a major source of incoming and Dortmund are a club like many, who have struggled with the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis.
Haaland was evidently frustrated as he left the field on Saturday after netting a brace in the 2-2 draw at Koln.
Although he scored a 90th-minute equaliser, his side lost further ground in the race for the top-four.

Solskjaer even flew to Salzburg in December 2019 to sit down with his former player and entourage, to discuss a transfer.
But Haaland would later snub Solskjaer to join Borussia Dortmund, a move that did not damage their professional relationship.
The 20-year-old recently became the youngest player to reach 20 Champions League goals.
When asked about Haaland's new record, Solskjaer hinted he'd contacted the frontman to congratulate him on his achievement.

"It was only a matter of time but at the age of 20 to achieve the amount of goals he had is fantastic," said Solskjaer.
"There’s not many more superlatives left out there and whatever I want to say to him I’ll say in Norwegian directly to him."
Unfortunately, United have a number of challengers when it comes to signing Haaland.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all in the running for his signature this summer.
Haaland's £64m release clause does not come into play until 2022, meaning a bidding war could be about to commence.
