Liverpool: Steve Nicol urges club to keep Gini Wijnaldum
Liverpool are running out of time to tie Georginio Wijnaldum down to a new contract and the midfielder has made his feelings clear to the club, albeit privately. Wijnaldum continues to be Jurgen Klopp's go-to option in midfield having established himself as a favourite under the German coach.

But it appears as though the Holland international still has hope of signing an extension at Anfield.
According to the Liverpool Echo, some in Wijnaldum's circle have stated he is 'desperate' to stay at Liverpool.
It is claimed that due to Wijnaldum's young family being settled in Merseyside, the midfielder is trepidatious about making a big move.
But rumours continue to persist of a potential switch to Barcelona and former Liverpool full-back Stephen Warnock believes if Wijnaldum does leave then it would end up costing the Reds a fortune.
"One hundred per cent I would [keep him]," Warnock told Stadium Astro.
"To go into the market and buy someone like Gini Wijnaldum you're looking at £50m-£60m.
"Do Liverpool have the finances to do that after the pandemic? I don't think they do.
"They've obviously bought Thiago into the squad as well.
