The 25-year-old was on target as United drew 1-1 with Tottenham in their first game back last Friday night.
And he sparkled as United thumped Sheffield United 3-0 in their showdown on Wednesday, with an Anthony Martial hat-trick giving them all three points.
Sky Sports pundit and United legend Gary Neville was full of praise for the midfielder during that showdown, saying on commentary: “It is a long time since I have seen a player have an impact on a team like this.
“He has single handedly dragged Manchester United, who were looking pretty average, to a pretty decent team.
“Some of his play is wonderful and everything seems to revolve around him. He has settled in right away.”
Neville added: “If you would have said to me, 'would a midfield player of his type come in and have this impact?' I would have said, 'no. Manchester United need three or four players to make that type of impact.'
"But his performance levels and points return since he came in, his influence... he is just involved in everything and he has got the arrogance on the ball and the quality."
Fernandes has previously revealed how Solskjaer was key to him joining United.
“Since the beginning I wanted to join Manchester United,” he said.
“For me, the most important was obviously the confidence of the coach. I need to know I am backed from the coach, because sometimes when you change club, not every time the coach wants you.
“Not like I need to come because the coach wants me to play, no, not like this, but I want to feel the confidence from the coach. ‘You come, you are a choice for me and you come. I need you, I want you’. It's not like you come and I ask ‘but I will play?’
“No, this for me is not the point. For me, the point is the confidence he has in me.”
Fernandes could feature when United lock horns with Norwich City in their FA Cup showdown on Saturday night.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the tournament for the first time since 2016, back when Louis van Gaal was in charge.
