Man Utd: Solskjaer says he is ‘very pleased’ for Fred
Manchester United star Fred has admitted he’d prefer to have Ronaldinho and Brazil legend Ronaldo than Cristiano Ronaldo. The Red Devils midfielder was asked about the trio. And he backed his compatriots instead, admitting he was wowed by the pair while growing up.
While speaking to Esporte Interativo, Fred was asked to take one of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho out.
And he chose to omit the Juventus star, despite describing him as a ‘phenomenon’.
“Dude, it’s complicated. With numbers, if you stop to see, Cristiano is a phenomenon,” he said.
“Without a doubt, he’s one of the greatest in history. But I stay with the other two Ronaldos. What I saw these guys play was a joke.
“I think Gaucho (Ronaldinho] revolutionised the way of football, football art. And the Fenomeno playing was incredible. He had an incredible resilience.
“Complicated to talk, but I think I’ll go with the two Ronaldos. The two with whom I started watching football.”

“It would be cool to have more Brazilians on the team. Not much, we don’t need many. I’m kidding.
“But it’s always good to have Brazilians here to help. Everyone knows the qualities that we Brazilians have, and it’d be very good if some players arrive to fill the squad, to help here.”
Speaking earlier in the month, in a separate interview, Fred admitted he’d struggled for form last season.
“I believe the first season was very difficult for me. There was the process of settling down here, but also other personal things that were happening in my life, such as the birth of my son,” Fred told the AP news agency.
“So I believe it was a mix of reasons that made me have an awful first season.
“I’ve been enjoying some good performances and the chance of playing a great sequence of games. That was also helpful. I’m delighted with this season. ‘
“I’m now playing well and hopefully I can keep the momentum if the league returns.
“I just want to give my best for this club, trying to be a key part of the team.”
