Man Utd: Jack Grealish 'would fit in well' at club says expert
Manchester United have reportedly stepped up interest in Aston Villa star Jack Grealish ahead of the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old is admired by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been impressed by his performances in the Premier League. But by ‘stepping up’ their interest the Red Devils have taken a risk. What if they sign him and Paul Pogba stays put?
It’s previously been reported that Pogba’s future will impact any potential United deal for Grealish.
But it seems like United are keen to sign the Aston Villa star anyway, regardless of what happens with their £89million midfielder.
They’ve stepped up interest in Grealish at a time where Pogba staying put seems a realistic possibility.
Last summer the France international wanted to leave Old Trafford for Real Madrid, hellbent on playing under childhood hero Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
He still wants to leave United and, while Juventus have since joined the race, it seems as if La Liga is his preferred next destination.
But, now, there’s a chance that the Red Devils will have both Pogba and Grealish - as well as Bruno Fernandes - in their squad for next season.

On paper, it’s the stuff of dreams. Pogba, on his day, remains one of the best midfielders in world football.
Fernandes is currently the darling of Old Trafford having been directly involved in six goals from eight games since his January arrival from Sporting Lisbon.
And Grealish has established himself as one of the best creative players in the top flight with some stirring performances for Villa this season.
However, all three would want regular football.
And United would struggle to cram the trio into the same midfield. It would be unbalanced, a huge problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pogba would appear to be the fall guy, particularly given how United’s best performances this season have been without him.
But keeping him on the bench could do more harm than good.
Pogba is a popular figure within the United dressing room, despite expressing a desire to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge elsewhere.
Jose Mourinho regularly snubbed him throughout his stint at Old Trafford but that didn’t work out well. Pogba always had the support of his team-mates, rather than his manager.
And that means Solskjaer may have the same problem as his predecessor.
United’s best hope of getting Grealish and coaxing the best from him is to let Pogba go. If they end up saddled with him, and sign the Villa star as well, it could all end in tears.
