Jose Mourinho explains why Tottenham are prioritising the FA Cup this season
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho will be prioritising the FA Cup this season, as it's the only realistic trophy he could win as Spurs manager, and he insisted that the club will be fighting to win the competition regardless of injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, ahead of the clash against Norwich City.
Tottenham: Mourinho says he is ‘proud’ of team despite losing
Tottenham will be fighting until the very end to lift the FA Cup, according to manager Jose Mourinho. Spurs take on Norwich City in north London on Wednesday night, with a place in the sixth round up for grabs.
Tottenham's chances of winning silverware this season may rely on their success in the FA Cup.
Spurs crashed out of the Carabao Cup in the third round, back in September, after losing to Colchester United on penalties.
They're fighting an uphill battle to qualify for the next round of the Champions League, after losing the first leg of their Round-of-16 tie 1-0 to RB Leipzig.
Now, Mourinho has admitted that he wants to win a trophy with Spurs, and he'll be doing everything he can to feel success at Wembley once again.

"My focus is long term focus," said Mourinho, ahead of the fifth-round match against Norwich.
"That's with the long term focus, everything is the same for me. I want to win a trophy with Tottenham. That doesn't change for me. This season the circumstances are not easy.
"The fact that I couldn't play the Carabao Cup gave me one less chance to win a trophy.
"Twelve points behind fourth and 30 points behind first obviously made that impossible too.

"So, I think all the 15 teams have a dream to fight for.
"It doesn't matter Kane, Lloris, Sissoko or Sonny or whoever, it doesn't matter.
"Until we are out of the competition, we are going to fight for the dream."
But, even if Tottenham aren't to win the FA Cup this year, Mourinho wouldn't consider it a failure.
He insisted that the club's numerous injury problems, as well as coming in halfway through the season, has hampered progress.

Despite sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table, Norwich don't deserve to be in a relegation battle, said the Spurs boss.
"I repeat what I said after the game we played here," he said.
"That's not a team to be where they are. They are fighting to stay in the division and I like their team, and I think it's going to be a very difficult match for us."
Spurs have made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup in two of the last three campaigns. If they win against Norwich, they're just one game away from another trip to Wembley.
