Mourinho has chosen to play a combination of Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn as the club’s striker, leaving 18-year-old Troy Parrott on the bench.
“I'd gladly take Sturridge at Spurs,” tweeted one Tottenham fan. “If he could stay fit he'd be perfect. Plus being back up for Harry Kane can't be any worse than playing for Trabzonspor.”
Another fan said: “Spurs should go for Sturridge on a short term deal. Nothing to lose.”
One supporter added: “You know what, at this point I’d be happy to see Spurs sign Sturridge.”

Another supporter added: “I would imagine the Sturridge situation has been driven more by financials than form. Could be worth a punt for spurs.”
“Daniel Sturridge is a free agent. Let's get him in on a 6 month deal,” said another fan. “What's the worst that can happen?”
