Manchester United ace Angel Gomes remains open to the idea of signing a new contract at the club, according to reports. Chelsea and Barcelona have emerged as potential suitors for the 19-year-old, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the campaign.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rates Gomes highly, despite the youngster being overlooked for Sunday's 6-0 FA Cup drubbing on Tranmere.
The teenager used social media to hit back at claims that he'd been sent from home training but, despite that, still wasn't thrown into the mix at Prenton Park.
Gomes' current deal at United expires in the summer and, as of yet, the club are yet to get him to agree terms.
Yet The Athletic say the 19-year-old could yet sign a contract extension, with the playmaker unwilling to make a decision just yet.

They know Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez can't play on forever and, as a result, believe Gomes could eventually be a first-team regular.
Whether that happens, however, is something only time will tell.
United would still like to keep him and Gomes, having been at the club since the age of six, would no doubt like the same.
But it appears they'll have to give him a bumper new deal to ensure the 19-year-old stays at Old Trafford rather than leaving for nothing at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, The Sun recently claimed that United were readying a contract offer worth £30,000-a-week in order to keep Gomes at the club.

A United source was quoted as saying: “The club want him to stay and sign a new contract.
“He is seen as a top player going forward.
“Ole has an open relationship with a lot of the squad and Angel is no different. He would be getting a pay-rise.”
While United are fighting to keep Gomes, it appears another youngster is on his way out of the club.
Tahith Chong has resisted the club's attempts to tie him down to a new deal, with both Juventus and Inter Milan interested in snapping him up.
