Man United: Solskjaer discusses Bruno Fernandes transfer
Manchester United are discussing the possibility of a players-plus-cash deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes. Express Sport understands that Sporting chiefs jetted into England on Friday night to have face-to-face talks over a deal for Fernandes.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer flew to Portugal last weekend with assistant manager Mike Phelan to watch Fernandes play live against Porto.
The 25-year-old did not add to his 13 goals and 13 assists this season in the 2-1 loss but still impressed Solskjaer, who is looking to add two midfielders to his ranks.
The Norwegian coach was coy when asked about the scouting mission during his Friday press conference, which came hours before the news that Sporting chiefs had landed at United’s headquarters in London.
"We go back to speculations and do go and watch games all the time,” Solskjaer said.

“Where I've been is irrelevant, that's another player in a different club I can't speak about."
Nevertheless, both clubs are now engaged in talks and Portuguese publication Diario de Noticias claim that those negotiations are at an “advanced” stage.
The newspaper also reports that United are flirting with the idea of a swap deal to soften the financial blow.
Sporting want £59.7million (€70m) for their captain, who is contracted to the Primeira Liga club until June 2023.
