Man Utd: We aim to win trophies next season says Solskjaer
Manchester United boss Solskjaer is set to overhaul his squad this summer in the wake of a disastrous Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils started slowly under Jose Mourinho in August and that set the tone for a season of woe over at Old Trafford.
For the third time in six years, Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League. Instead, they will be joining Wolves and Watford in the Europa League next term in a damning indictment of how far they’ve fallen.
Solskjaer is under no illusions regarding the size of the task he is facing this summer.
United stars simply have not been good enough and a mass summer clearout appears primed to take place.
And the South China Morning Post say that Solskjaer has issues with three United stars behind closed doors.
Alexis Sanchez is one of those.
The Chile international managed to find the net just twice this season, in games against Newcastle and Arsenal respectively.
Fans have grown fed up of the 29-year-old’s insipid displays and he recently took to Instagram to post a grovelling apology, saying: "It was a very tough season...the fan are the ones who deserve an apology as they always support you no matter what happens.
"Personally, I didn’t perform as much as I was expecting because of unpredictable injuries.
