Manchester United: Real Madrid ‘not willing to pay’ sum for Pogba
Manchester United manager Solskjaer wants to build his team around Pogba - but Real Madrid have other ideas.
The La Liga giants have made the signing of the World Cup winner a priority this summer with Zinedine Zidane keen to unite with his compatriot over at the Bernabeu.
Manchester United boss Solskjaer has, however, been defiant in his insistence to keep Pogba at Old Trafford, recently saying: "You can't guarantee anything in football.
"But, yes, I think Paul's going to be here, he's very determined to succeed at Manchester United.
"He's done fantastic for us, he's a human being as well and we're all the same - we want him to do well, and he's a leader in that dressing room and on the pitch for us.
"But back to if I can guarantee - I would say yes, I can guarantee [he'll stay], but in life you can never say never, but he will be here as far as I'm concerned."
And the Evening Standard claim Solskjaer is already plotting to sign two midfielders this summer.
Pogba leaving would give him a headache.
But United currently have four stars on a transfer wishlist as they plot a summer overhaul.
