Sarri, though, did not gloat as he moved a step closer to potentially winning the first silverware of his managerial career.
The Chelsea boss remained standing by the dugouts as players and staff ran on the pitch to celebrate booking their place in the Carabao Cup final.
And he waited by the tunnel entrance for Tottenham gaffer Mauricio Pochettino and the Argentine's backroom team.
Sarri proceeded to embrace Pochettino and his coaching staff in a classy act of consolement.

But the 60-year-old Italian wasn't finished there as he ensured plenty of plaudits will go his way.
Sarri walked on to the Stamford Bridge pitch to shake hands with his Chelsea stars, who will face Manchester City in next month's final.
And he followed that up by handing a gift to a clearly delighted fan in the stands.
Chelsea supporters reached out to Sarri, who will be glad to have bounced back from last weekend's defeat to Arsenal.
