Corrie: Michelle gives emotional farewell to son Ruari
In tonight’s episode of the Manchester-based soap, Michelle (played by Kym) and Steve McDonald (Simon) said their final goodbye to their son Ruairi, who died shortly after birth.
Michelle, who has been struggling to cope, asked Steve not to invite anyone else to the funeral, which was conducted by vicar Billy (Daniel Brocklebank).
During the service, she read an inspirational poem as the camera panned out to show Ruairi’s tiny coffin.
The scene was made all the more heartbreaking by the fact that both actors have experienced the loss of a baby in real life.
