The OA ending explained: What happened to Hap? Did he stop the school shooter?
FANS of Netflix’s The OA think that they might have spotted the return of a major character in the season finale, murderous scientist Hap.

The Netflix series tells the story of Prairie, a once-blind woman who was imprisoned by Dr Hunter Aloysius ‘Hap’ Percy.
Over the course of seven years, Prairie and her fellow captives were and drowned over and over again in an experiment designed to induce near-death experiences (NDEs).
During the NDEs, they were given a series of movements that can unlock inter-dimensional travel.
In the season finale Prairie tells the story of her final night with Hap, explaining that she and another prisoner named Homer were made to perform the movements in an attempt to cure a dying sheriff’s wife.
When the woman was healed she revealed that she was also an NDE survivor and gave Prairie and Homer the fifth and final movement.
Once he had noted the movement Hap killed the woman and her husband, and dumped Prairie by the side of a road.
Fans of The OA believe that Hap might be the man who tackled the school shooter
He warned her: “If you get back we’ll be gone, in another dimension, all of us, and you’ll be all alone with nothing, with no one.”
But did Hap manage to jump across worlds?
Eagle-eyed fans think that they might have spotted the scientist in the final episode and believe that Hap is the cafeteria worker who tackles the school shooter.
Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs plays Hap
The season finale sees a gunman siege the high school
The vigilante certainly looks similar to Jason Isaacs, the actor who plays Hap.
Reddit users have speculated that Hap could be travelling between dimensions, or could have simply gone undercover to keep an eye on Prairie.
After a stash of books hidden under Prairie’s bed cast doubt on her entire story, another theory is that Hap is a figment of Prairie’s imagination based on an otherwise unimportant cafeteria worker.
Likewise, each of the prisoners could be based on a high school character. Homer could have been drawn from French, which would explain why French saw him in a mirror.
Some fans think that the worker isn’t Hap, and is in fact Elias – the FBI counsellor who French finds in the Johnson house just after he discovers the box of books.
One theory is that Elias is part of a larger conspiracy and planted the books to discredit Prairie.
Creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have confirmed that they would like to bring The OA back for a second season, should Netflix choose to renew it.
