The OA ending explained: Why did Prairie have books under her bed?
THE OA ending left fans with many unanswered questions, one of the biggest of which is why were there books under Prairie’s bed?
Trailer for mysterious new Netflix Original series The OA
The new Netflix series ended with a baffling finale which suggested that Prairie’s story of near-death experiences and imprisonment was a lie.
In the closing scenes French discovered a box filled with books hidden under Prairies’s bed.

The box included a copy of Homer’s Iliad, a tome of near-death experiences, a history of Russian oligarchy and a book about angels.
French, Steve and the rest of Prairie's recruits assume that the books must mean that Prairie made up her story using the books as inspiration.
But Reddit users have come up an alternative theory that could explain the books’ existence.
The books could mean that Prairie faked her story
Prairie claimed that she was kept prisoner and used in a near-death experience experiment
Some have deduced that the books could be a plant left by the FBI counsellor that French bumped into at the Johnson house, which would suggest that there is a larger conspiracy at play that could unfold in season two.
Fans have pointed out that Prairie was not given internet access until shortly before she began telling her story, and yet the books were in an Amazon box and appeared to be brand new.
It has also been asked how Prairie could read English competently as she was blinded during her childhood in Russia – a fact confirmed by her parents.
