From Ore Oduba and Poldark to Piers Morgan - Who was your favourite TV heartthrob of 2016?
ANOTHER year over, and another batch of burly heartthrobs have set pulses racing on the small screen throughout 2016 - but who was your favourite?
Emotional moment Ore Oduba wins Strictly Come Dancing
With newcomers such as the smoothest baker around since Mr. Kipling, Selasi Gbormittah, and Strictly champion Ore Oduba - who rose from relative obscurity to become one of the most sought after men in town - audiences have been spoilt rotten, and loved every second of it.
But what, or who, was the highlight of your 2016?
Was it the arrival of the deliciously deadly Jeffrey Dean Morgan in The Walking Dead? Or did James Norton stripping off in Grantchester tickle your fancy?
There’s been countless moments and men to get your knickers in a twist over, but below are the definitive top males of 2016.
Ore Oduba
From Poldark to Piers Morgan - who was your favourite TV heartthrob of 2016?
Ore Oduba shared this topless snap for fans - you're welcome
Gleb Savchenko, 33, may have been absent from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, news which broke a million hearts across the UK, but he still managed to turn up the heat for a brief stint in Celebrity Masterchef. The Russian beauty wasn’t quite as nifty in the kitchen as he is on the dancefloor, but he was still an absolute adonis all the same.
Giovanni Pernice
Giovanni Pernice sizzled on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor
And speaking of Strictly heartthrobs, thankfully, viewers were still treated to Italian stallion Giovanni Pernice. He may have broken Georgia May Foote’s heart earlier this year, and riled up his partner Laura Whitmore, 31, the wrong way, but the dancer did nothing but impress those at home, including Express.co.uk.
Good Morning Britain viewers swoon over Piers Morgan everyday
Okay, Piers Morgan may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but his charm is clearly having an affect on stunner Susanna Reid during Good Morning Britain, while viewers flock daily to the morning news show to swoon over the outspoken, often diabolically rude host.
James Norton
James Norton is delicious as both a vicar in Grantchester and a killer Happy Valley
Whether’s he’s playing a delightful vicar in Grantchester or a murderous rapist in Happy Valley, James Norton is a treat of epic proportions on the eyes. The Brit entered the year relatively unknown but closed it as a household name for lovers of a gritty drama. For 2017, it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that Hollywood will come calling for the 31-year-old, so soak up him up on the small screen while you can.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan make sit hard not to fall in love with Negan
Negan may be a psychopath, and lets face it, the most barbaric serial killer since Norman Bates, but actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 50, makes it very hard not to fall in love with the baseball bat-wielding maniac.
Selasi Gbormittah
This year's Great British Bake Off was all about one man... Selasi Gbormittah
Move over Paul Hollywood, for the first time in a long time, the judge - who will be the only ingredient of The Great British Bake Off to be returning to the series on Channel 4 next year - took a back seat while viewers salivated over Selasi Gbormittah and his delectable cakes.
Danny Miller
Danny Miller won the Inside Soap Award's Sexiest Male, but will he win ours?
He’s won every soap accolade under the sun this year, including The Inside Soap Award for sexiest male, and it’s not hard to see why. His Emmerdale character Aaron Dingle has been through more heartache than any other soap hero of the past year, which may be why fans of the Dales continue to fall in love with him more and more every day. Well, that and his piercing eyes and sensational stubble.
Tom Hughes
Tom Hughes brought a whole meaning to Prince Albert in Victoria
He may have been snapped his Victoria co-star Jenna Coleman, but that hasn’t stopped fans of the period drama spending the last few months drooling over Tom Hughes. Of course, the comparisons to Poldark’s Aidan Tuner were inevitable, but Tom’s torso pulled in the higher viewing figures than his rival’s, which counts for everything.
Aidan Turner
Poldark won Express reader's poll last year, can he do it again?
See above.
Joel Dommett
Joel Dommett was the hunk of the jugnle but was he the heartthrob of the year?
Not only did he steal the heart of Carol Vorderman on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but he swiped the hearts of a nation with his comedic charm and cheeky grin. Oh, and rippling abs and THAT tape.
James Nesbitt
James Nesbitt reminded us why he was THE TV pin-up of the late nineties in Cold Feet
Cold Feet fans not only created a sigh of relief when the comedy returned in its finest form, but they were reminded of why Adam Williams was their dream man of the late nineties. What’s more James Nesbitt, 51, only aged like the finest wine and it turns out so did Cold Feet, which is why he rounds off this year’s heartthrobs of 2016.
