THE Mitchell family will be left devastated when they learn Ben (Harry Reid) has died in difficult scenes next week in EastEnders.

His father Phil (Steve McFadden) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) will rush to the hospital to be by his side when they find out he has been in an accident.
They face a long and emotional wait until a doctor arrives to break the news that they were unable to save him and he died from his horrific injuries.
His family will gather round to support one another as they struggle to deal with the shocking news.
However, Ben's mother will remain unaware of her son's suffering as she slips away to spend a night in a hotel with Buster Briggs.

It isn't until she sees Buster's partner Shirley when she arrives back at Albert Square that she hears her son is in the hospital.
Things go from bad to worse for his mother when she receives a call from Steve informing her Ben is dead.
His death will come after he and his partner make plans to take over Coker and Sons together, however Paul reveals to his grandmother he thinks things are moving too quickly.

Johnny Labey, who plays Paul, recently confirmed that he will be leaving the soap and fans have been promised his exit will be full of drama – will it link to Ben's death?
Speaking to Inside Soap, his onscreen grandmother Lin Blakely teased: "It's going to be awful. Les and Pam will miss their grandson, but I will miss Johnny as he is such a dear boy.
"I would imagine it's going to be hell for Paul's boyfriend Ben, whatever happened, and I am sure there will be a few gasps from the audience who'll think, 'My gosh, I didn't see that coming!"
