STAR of The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus, has assured fans once again that the frustrating cliffhanger at the end of season 6 will all be worth it in the end.
The Walking Dead returns for season 7 in autumn
His precise words were in fact that the world "would explode" when the show comes back after the summer.
"Just wait. It's worth the wait. Trust me," he told Entertainment Weekly Radio. "I think the planet is going to explode. That's my feeling. It's so good."
Cast and crew alike have been careful to defend the show writers' decision to end season six on the biggest cliffhanger the series has ever seen.
With the entire sixth season building up to the entrance of super-villain Negan, fans braced themselves for the death of one of the main characters.

But the last episode ended without actually revealing who was killed.
"Sometimes, you make something just to get people to talk," the 47-year-old actor, who plays Daryl, said. "The fact that people are still talking is a huge compliment to how that episode was executed and the acting in it and the writing of it. That's a good thing.
"I like the controversy, to be honest. For that many people to be that invested in that show and freaking out, I think it's great."

Fans have been desperate to know what happens next
Clearly impressed with the direction the new season will take, Reedus went on to say: "Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what's to come, we all say, 'Oh my god, it's amazing. I can't wait for you to see it'. But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together and the execution of it - no pun intended.
"It blows my mind. It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we've ever been. So just wait."
