UK air date announced for The Walking Dead creator's terrifying new series Outcast
FANS of The Walking Dead have finally got a date to mark in their diaries for the UK premiere of demonic new show Outcast.
Outcast has finally got a UK premiere air date
For months, teaser trailers for Outcast have aired on FOX, usually during ad breaks for horror series The Walking Dead, promising viewers that something creepy is on its way.
And now, at last, the date has been set for Tuesday, June 7 at 10pm - four days after the show's US launch on June 3.
The Walking Dead doesn't leave fans waiting quite as long, airing in the UK the night after America broadcasts a new episode. But excitable fans are just happy to hear the announcement, taking to Twitter to express the anticipation.
Outcast is adapted from a graphic novel series, much like The Walking Dead.
The series tells the story of what happens when demonically-possessed Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl) clashes with alcoholic man of the cloth Philip Glenister (Life on Mars).

The series will feature a demonic plotline
Outcast has been a passion project of mine for many years. Seeing it come together has been a huge thrill for me. What we’ve been able to achieve on Cinemax, with its unprecedented creative freedom, frankly, almost scares me at times
Expected to be a hit with audiences, the production has already been renewed for a second season before even premiering on TV. With shows so heavily scrutinised for their viewership numbers, it's rare that this happens.
Commissioning network Cinemax have been praised by series creator Robert Kirkman for their fluidity when it comes to his vision.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter in March, Kirkman said: "Outcast has been a passion project of mine for many years. Seeing it come together has been a huge thrill for me. What we’ve been able to achieve on Cinemax, with its unprecedented creative freedom, frankly, almost scares me at times.”
Outcast begins on FOX on June 7 at 10pm.
