Emmerdale spoiler: Ex-Coronation Street star Jonathan Wrather to play Tess Harris' husband
JONATHAN WRATHER has said he is "thrilled" to be joining the cast of Emmerdale next month.
Jonathan Wrather has been announced as the latest addition to the Emmerdale cast
The RADA-trained actor previously appeared in rival ITV soap Coronation Street as the nasty Joe Carter, between 2002 and 2003.
The soap star also has a string of television and theatre credits to his name, including Silent Witness, Holby City, Doctors and most recently Casualty, to name a few.
On the stage, Cheshire-born Jonathan featured in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Starlight Express and a production of When Harry Met Sally, alongside Gaby Roslin.
Talking about his new role as Pierce Harris in the Dales, he said: "I am thrilled to be joining Emmerdale.

"It's a great opportunity to be offered the chance to create a new character in one of TV's most popular shows and I'm very excited to be working with such an outstanding cast and team."
Jonathan's character is set to stir things up from the moment he is seen in the village in mid February.
Unknown to Pierce, his wife Tess (Nicola Stephenson) is having an affair with Emmerdale's long-serving vet Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).

When the pair first met, Tess was very open about her marital status, however he never expected to come face to face with her spouse.
But with Pierce on the scene, it can only be a matter of time before their clandestine secret is exposed.
Emmerdale continues on ITV tomorrow at 7pm.
