‘Masterpiece’ series now streaming on Netflix - fans of Peaky Blinders will ‘love’ it

A classic action drama has been hailed by fans and critics alike, and it is streaming on Disney+. Sons of Anarchy is an American action crime drama television series, which originally aired from September 3, 2008, to December 9, 2014. Created by Kurt Sutter, Sons of Anarchy follows the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club in Charming, a fictional town in California's Central Valley.
The series synopsis reads: "Single father Jax Teller finds his loyalty to his outlaw motorcycle club tested by his growing unease concerning the group's lawlessness. While the club protects and patrols the town of Charming, Calif., keeping drug dealers away, its activities also include a thriving -- and lucrative -- illegal arms business."
On Rotten Tomatoes, the seven-series crime drama has amassed an incredible rating of 87%. The critics' consensus reads: "Rough and harsh, Sons of Anarchy features one of television's best ensemble casts." One critic said: "Sons of Anarchy is part of a recent trend to darker, harder TV drama that requires more than just gripping storylines. It definitely has that, but it also requires a cast able to portray each character realistically. We've definitely got that here!"
"Few series have exploded onto the scene with such a rich array of potential stories and inherently interesting characters," added a second.
One viewer described it as a "masterpiece", while another said it was the "best series ever".
A third said: "Phenomenal heart wrenching story. If you like crime dramas with a ton of action, this is for you."
"Season 1 is great, Season 2 is even better. The aftermath of Clay's decisions has spark a deadly rivalry between him and Jax. Which makes great TV. Each episode is as entertaining as the last. If you're not hook by the first season, I'll definitely will be by the end of Season 2," added another.
Sons of Anarchy is often likened to Peaky Blinders. In a Reddit thread titled "Peaky Blinders or Sons of Anarchy", one user said they "loved Sons of Anarchy", and added: "I've seen both start-to-finish. Definitely watch Peaky Blinders first."
