Rishi Sunak became the UK's 57th Prime Minister on October 25, 2022, following Liz Truss's resignation on October 20, 2022. 

Rishi was elected Conservative MP for Richmond (Yorks) in May 2015 and served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from February 2020 to July 2022 under Boris Johnson, before resigning in the wake of several scandals.

The Prime Minister went to Winchester College and studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University (USA) where he studied for his MBA.

He married his wife Akshata Murthy, a businesswoman and daughter of an Indian billionaire, in 2009.
