Piers Morgan confirms ‘astounding’ Kevin Spacey interview but viewers call out major error

Uncensored presenter Piers Morgan is courting controversy once again by interviewing disgraced actor Kevin Spacey, but fans have called out a huge error with his announcement.

Kevin Spacey found not guilty of nine charges

Piers Morgan has confirmed his “astounding” 90-minute interview with Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey will air on tomorrow’s edition of Uncensored on TalkTV.

The controversial broadcaster is sparking outrage yet again after previously chatting to the alleged inspiration behind the Netflix series Baby Reindeer, Fiona Harvey.

Morgan and Spacey’s extended chat will air at 8pm tomorrow (June 11) and is already causing a stir after the actor’s troubled past few years.

The Usual Suspects star, 64, faced allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017 but was found not liable in a 2022 New York lawsuit and was acquitted of sexual assault charges in a separate London trial in 2023. However, he is due to stand trial in the UK again, likely in early 2025, over a lawsuit by another man claiming Spacey sexually assaulted him.

Spacey has denied all allegations. To preview his conversation, Morgan shared a photo of the pair standing side by side in the studio on X (formerly Twitter).

“Just finished an astounding 90-minute interview with ⁦@KevinSpacey,” he wrote.

⁩ “His first in-studio interview for 7yrs. It will premiere on our ⁦@PiersUncensored⁩ YouTube channel at 8pm UK time tomorrow. You won’t want to miss this…”

Morgan’s announcement received a divisive response, though many X users pointed out a major error with the post.

They claimed Spacey’s Uncensored appearance isn’t his first in-studio interview for seven years, as he recently appeared on Lex Fridman’s podcast.

“Didn’t @lexfridman beat you to this by a few days?” one user asked. “Technically, that interview was also conducted in a studio.”

Another replied: “He did appear on Lex .... so I guess his podcast "room" does not count as a studio.”

“He already told all on the Lex Fridman podcast..” a third said.

“Fairly sure his interview with @lexfridman was in a studio,” a final user said, adding a shrug emoji.

Spacey opened up last week on Fridman’s podcast after the allegations led to Netflix cutting ties with him, claiming Hollywood doesn’t offer forgiveness.

“I don’t think it’s about the industry. I think it’s about our time,” Spacey told the host, per The Hollywood Reporter.

“I think it’s the time we are in. And people are very afraid. They are literally afraid that they’re going to get canceled if they stand up for someone who has been.

“We’ve seen this many times in history, this is not the first time it’s happened.”
