EastEnders spoilers: Sharon's new romance, Nugget receives bad news and Maya's exposed

There's plenty of drama on the way for the residents of Albert Square, with romance, health scares and a sinister twist all on the cards in the next week.

Eastenders: Will Mitchell pushes Stevie to the floor

EastEnders fans might be in for a surprise as it seems Sharon Watts, played by Letitia Dean, may have her sights set on another Mitchell, despite viewers thinking she and Phil (Steve McFadden) were about to rekindle their romance.

In the upcoming episodes of the BBC One soap, Sharon finds herself with a new admirer as Teddy, Harry (Elijah Holloway), and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) settle into life in Albert Square. The trio, who are Stevie Mitchell's (Alan Ford) secret family, recently arrived and are quickly getting acquainted with the locals.

After a rowdy Mitchell drinking session at the gym leaves Sharon less than impressed, Teddy, portrayed by Roland Manookian, tries to charm her with an invitation for a drink and some smooth conversation. The pair share a playful drink, which doesn't go unnoticed by Stevie, who is uneasy about his son's interaction with Phil's ex.

When Teddy tries to convince Sharon to extend their drinking session, she playfully declines and leaves. As Sharon mourns the loss of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and accepts Phil as her son's father, could she be tempted by another man?

Meanwhile, across the Square, the younger residents prepare for a boxing tournament, but Nugget (Juhaim Choudhury) ends up needing medical attention before the fight even begins. The alarming incident occurs when Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) teases Davinder 'Nugget' Gulati, causing him to lose his temper.

In a dramatic turn of events, Tommy and Nugget's heated argument is broken up by Zack Hudson (James Farrar) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), while Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) tries to defuse the situation before their steroid use becomes public knowledge. Zack, suspecting drug use, puts up a 'drugs test' sign at the Boxing Den, causing gym fanatic Denzel to panic, unaware it's merely a scare tactic.

Meanwhile, Nuggets mum Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) has been using Suki Panesar's (Balvinder Sopal) credit card without permission, leading a concerned Avani (Aaliyah James) to caution her mother against jeopardising their situation with reckless behaviour.

In a rash move, Priya proposes a deal to the dying Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in an attempt to secure her family's future. However, when Denzel fails to show up for boxing, Nugget goes searching for him but falls ill and seeks help at No.41.

Inside, Priya and Nish are oblivious to the unfolding drama as they finalise their 'deal', just as Nugget collapses outside. Avani interrupts the pair with the news of Nugget's collapse. Elsewhere, after receiving encouragement from Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), Denzel competes in the tournament and wins his match, completely unaware of Nugget's perilous situation.

Nugget is quickly taken to hospital where Priya and Ravi are distraught, and are soon hit with shocking news about their son's condition. In the hospital, Dr Miller informs Nugget's family that his kidneys are failing and questions if he's been using drugs, a claim they deny.

However, Ravi pulls Dr Miller aside to voice Zack's steroid suspicions. A heated argument ensues between Ravi and Priya about their parenting shortcomings, but they find solace in each other's company. The situation takes a turn when Dr Miller confirms Ravi's suspicion - Nugget has indeed been using steroids.
