ITV Coronation Street affair 'confirmed' in huge Toyah Battersby twist
ITV's Coronation Street was full of bombshells for Toyah Battersby tonight.
Coronation Street saw some huge twists for Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) this evening as she faced the fallout after being arrested over the death of her baby.
The ITV soap character was recently spotted placing yellow roses on the grave of her stillborn daughter Rose, who she gave birth to while scared and alone when she was just 19 years old. Recent episodes saw her hauled off to the police station as someone reported her while she continued to grieve.
Tonight's episode saw her work out exactly who may have grassed her up, as she received a tell-tale sign from a fellow neighbour. Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) had sent a bouquet of yellow roses to the Bistro for Toyah, much to her horror.
Later, it was revealed that her own sister, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) had told Rowan everything, trusting him with what she had shared in private.
As a result, Toyah and Nick Platt (Ben Price) struggled to convince Leanne to step away from her growing association with cult leader Rowan and the Institute.

However, couple Leanne and Nick came to blows instead, with her storming out leaving him to seek comfort in the arms of her sister. Nick and Toyah embraced in a steamy kiss, leading them to internally struggle with their feelings.
But was it a one off or will it lead to more to come? While Leanne promises that she would never cheat on her partner, can Nick really do the same?
Actress Georgia Taylor said: “It’s really confusing for Toyah, Nick is to all intents and purposes her brother in law and they haven’t always got on, so it's not like she's been harbouring some secret attraction.

"So this has hit her out of the blue, they’ve both been there for each other these last few weeks when life has been really tough and those feelings are starting to get a little bit blurred."
She added: “Toyah loves her sister but every time she feels guilty for leaning on Nick, Leanne does something to push her away again.
"It's difficult when you're angry at someone, but you also feel guilty for something you've done to them. It's very conflicting for Toyah.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
