Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Ashley Roberts ‘juicy nuggets’ leave Claudia red-faced
STRICTLY COME DANCING favourite Ashley Roberts made a surprising admission during tonight’s edition of the BBC competition that left presenter Claudia Winkleman stumbling over her words.
Strictly: Seann Walsh and Katya Jones dance the Quickstep
Ashley Roberts has stayed at the top of the leaderboard during this year of Strictly Come Dancing with her professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev.
The pair have repeatedly spoken this week about their excitement to perform the Rumba tonight - which is widely known as the sexiest dance in the competition.
Yet while former Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley admitted she was struggling to get her hips to do the right thing, she was elated as tonight’s performance was a raging success.
Upstairs in the gallery Ashley left presenter Claudia searching for her words however, when she referenced her “juicy nuggets”.
“You are the only person in the history of Strictly,” Claudia began, “when asked, ‘Why do you want to take part in Strictly?’
“You were like, ‘To do the Rumba.’”
Laughing, the presenter shared: “We were like, ‘That’s the part that people hate!’”
Giggling in embarrassment, Ashley admitted: “I’m the opposite.”
“But you enjoyed it didn’t you?” Claudia continued, unprepared for what was to come next.
Just wanted those juicy nuggets
Barely able to contain herself, Ashley said: “I just wanted those juicy nuggets, those hips to be like…”
The former band member proceeded to give Claudia a demonstration of the action then, as the presenter stumbled over how to react.
“Ok juicy nuggets…” she replied slowly, before declaring” “I love a nugget.”
Luckily, the presenter quickly moved on as it was time for the judging panel to give their scores.
Craig Revel Horwood gave the contestant a solid nine, which was quickly followed by fellow nines by Dame Darcey Bussell, head judge Shirley Ballas and guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro.
“Four nines, that’s your highest score,” Claudia praised, as Ashley and Pasha appeared completely shocked.
“You look emotional, Pasha?” the host pressed, as the Russian dancer fought to contain his hyper-ness.
“Scores don’t lie, words don’t lie,” he babbled. “Those hips don’t lie.”
“We all go together!” the professional added.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.45pm on BBC One.
