Great British Bake Off 2018: Who left the Bake Off on Channel 4 last night?
THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF 2018 entered the Dessert Week round yesterday as the contestants were tasked with making three sweet treats to impress the judges. But who left the Channel 4 series last night?
Great British Bake Off: Noel reveals no one will leave
Who left the Bake Off on Channel 4 last night?
The short answer is no one left The Great British Bake Off last night.
Dessert Week saw all of the bakers remaining in the competition after contestant Terry was unable to take part due to illness.
Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith made the decision to let all the bakers remain in Dessert Week because of Terry’s absence from the latest round of the competition.
At the end of the episode of the Channel 4 show, host Noel Fielding told the contestants: "The person who is going home this week is nobody.
"The judges felt it wouldn't be fair to send someone home with Terry not being here."
Noel went on to warn the bakers: "But the downside to that means that next week there is a strong possibility two people might be going home.”
The unusual situation left Noel feeling a bit odd as he added: "And on that note, it feels weird sending no one home so I'm gonna go. See you later guys."
However, due to an epic editing fail the audience was shown the ending of the episode halfway through.
After Rahul took his bake to the judges’ table, there was a strange cut to a shot of the contestants celebrating as it appeared that none of them would be leaving.
Viewers were quick to pick up on the faux pas and took to social media to point it out.
A total of nine bakers remain in the competition: Ruby, Terry, Jon, Rahul, Kim-Joy, Manon, Karen, Briony and Dan.
The eliminated contestants so far are: Imelda, Luke and Antony.
This isn’t the first time that an elimination hasn’t take place.
Back in series three, no one was sent home after John Whaite had to go to hospital after cutting his finger on a food processor.
John had to leave halfway through the episode when he required medical attention, leading the judges to postpone their decision.
But next week the contestants will be whittled down even further with only seven bakers left in the end tent by the end of the episode.
The next episode of The Great British Bake Off will see the bakers take on Spice Week.
They will have to make a teatime favourite as their Signature, which could well be spice pound cake.
For the Technical, the bakers will take on an Arabian pastry and for the Showstopper they will really be pushed to their culinary limits.
The Great British Bake Off continues on Channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8pm
