Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Janette Manrara's advice to husband Aljaz's partner REVEALED
STRICTLY COME DANCING 2018 kicks on the BBC next week but before this year’s celebrities take to the dancefloor, former contestants reminisced about the show in Strictly the Best.
Gemma Atkinson: Janette told me to be SEXIER with Alijaz
This year’s Strictly Come Dancing stars were partnered with the professional dancers last week ahead of two weeks of training.
Before they take to the dancefloor for the first time next week, former stars have opened up about their opinions of the pro dancers as well as offering up their advice.
When speaking about the sexy dances, last year’s contestant Gemma Atkinson revealed she was shocked by the advice given to her by Janette Manrara.
The former Emmerdale actress was partnered with Janette’s husband Aljaz Skorjanec for last year’s series.
Gemma told fellow former contestant Louise Redknapp: “I used to get so embarrassed.
“I remember one week, Janette took me aside and went you really need to be more agresssive and full one and sensual about Aljaz.
“I was like, ‘What, he’s your husband.’
“And she was like, ‘It’s not working.’”
Gemma wasn’t the only one who reminisced about her time being partnered with Aljaz.
Speaking about the night she was told she would be dancing with Aljaz, model Abbey Clancy confessed: “I was traumatised when I got Aljaz.”
“I just didn’t want him,” she continued.
“I wanted Robin [Windsor] because I thought I wouldn’t get all embarrassed doing the sexy dancing.”
This year, Aljaz is set to perform with newsreader Kate Silverton.
Kate, 48, was clearly very happy when she found out who her professional partner was.
“I honestly couldn’t be more thrilled. Perfect match,” she told host Tess Daly.
Meanwhile, Aljaz said of the pairing: “I cannot wait to get started. I can’t wait.”
Kate has been open about her training so far, revealing she has had to have shoes especially made.
“My feet are large - they are size nine, a 43,” she revealed.
“I find it difficult enough to get shoes as it is. The Strictly shoes only go up to size eight, so they had to have a pair made specially.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One.
